The Challenge


     The Challenge is to TRY to run 28 half marathons in all 28 EU member countries before Monday 1st April 2019 starting with our home town Half Marathon in Rochdale on Sunday October the 8th . Initially this is my challenge but Jackie will attempt to run as many as she wants , and stand in for me if I get injured . We have set up a Virgin Money Giving   page as we would like to raise money for our chosen charities . The whole cost of the challenge will be met by ourselves and as an extra incentive I will donate £10.00 for every run I fail to do in under 2hrs (excluding full marathons) and £50.00 for any country not completed.  I will put details of the runs on this blog and if anyone wants to join us for any of the runs we will be delighted . Most events run a full Marathon and a 10k as well.Also we would be grateful of any insider knowledge any one might have of any of the countries , a family member to stay with for example ha ha.  We will be running in our Rochdale Harriers vests and attempt to step up and complete our first ever Marathon at some stage .

Fitbit Paris Half Marathon Sunday 4th March 2018 including London to Paris Bike ride .No.4

PARIS HALF MARATHON SUNDAY MARCH 4 2018  Registration opens September 12th 2017 http://www.fitbitsemideparis.com/en/ This is a big one for us . We return from Malta on the 26th February and then on Friday 2nd March we catch the train from Rochdale to London WITH OUR BIKES !!. Then we get the Eurostar to Paris where we are staying at the Campanile Paris 19 -La Villette for 4 nights . We do the Paris Half Marathon on the Sunday 4th , have a day sightseeing on the Monday 5th and then begin the cycle ride back to London on Tuesday 6th. Tuesday 6th Paris to Pontiose 18 miles  Wednesday 7th Pontiose to Forges-les-ledux  52 miles Thursday 8th Forges-les-ledux to Diepe 35 miles Thursday 8th 18.00 catch ferry to Newhaven Friday 9th Newhaven to London 56 miles  Train back to Rochdale . Mike and Gill are organizing the bike ride , Myself Jackie Mike Chris and Emma are doing the half marathon . Chris and Emma are flying .
